Insect Proof Window Screens
Insect proof window screens are suitable for windows of all heights, widths and styles. They can be fitted inside or outside depending on whether your window opens inwards or outwards.

Here are some popular styles of insect proof window screens:
- Hinged insect screen – Insect mesh is fitted inside an aluminium frame. Attach the insect screen frame to the window frame and open it just like a normal hinged window. Push the window open, push the hinged insect screen closed and fasten in place. Hinges can be at the top or down the side of the window frame.
- Retractable window screen – Just like a roller blind, this popular style of insect screen consists of insect mesh rolled up inside a spring-loaded cassette holder. Open the window, pull the retractable window screen down vertically to the bottom of the window and lock in place. Release the screen to close the window. The mesh retracts back into the header cassette when not in use and has the advantage of completely disappearing for extended periods of non-use, such as during winter.
- Sliding window screen – The insect mesh slides along upper and lower tracks. Slide the window screen to one side, open the window and slide the screen back in place. For double or larger windows, multiple window screens slide past each other enabling all windows to be opened and the entire window area to be completely screened. Vertical and horizontal sliding window screens are available.
- Velcro insect screen - Flexible mesh is secured with Velcro self-adhesive tape. The insect screen easily peels back and reattaches. Velcro insect screens are useful for awkward-shaped windows and are very easy to install.
