Insect Repellent With Picaridin

Picaridin is used in insect repellents sold in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Studies have shown insect repellent with picaridin to be highly effective and it is recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Picaridin helps prevent bites from mosquitoes that carry potentially serious diseases such as West Nile virus, encephalitis and malaria.

The CDC considers picaridin, along with DEET, to be superior to other insect repellents. Picaridin insect repellent provides longer-lasting protection than oil of lemon eucalyptus, IR3535 and citronella.

Is Picaridin Safe to Use?

Picaridin has low toxicity to humans, animals and the environment. Insect repellent with picaridin is not expected to present a health risk when used according to common-sense application instructions. Picaridin is safe for adults, children and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Picaridin insect repellent is available as a spray or convenient towelettes.
