What's in Mosi-Guard?
The active ingredient in Mosi-guard Natural is a naturally occurring extract of lemon eucalyptus, called Citriodiol®, very little of which is absorbed through the skin (unlike DEET which does pass easily through the skin).
Citriodiol® is extracted from the Eucalyptus citriodora oil from Eucalyptus citriodora trees, which are a renewable resource.
How effective is Mosi-Guard?
Mosi-guard Natural is used successfully worldwide to protect against mosquitoes, sandflies, ticks, midges, and even leeches. It is suitable for use even in areas where there is a high risk of malaria, and provides protection for over 10 hours.
The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has tested the effectiveness of Mosi-guard Natural extensively in its laboratories, as well as out in the field in places such as Tanzania, Malaysia, Bolivia and Scotland. (Scotland is famous for its colossal population of biting midges.)
Insect repellents containing DEET have long been regarded as the most effective. However, The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has found Mosi-guard Natural to be just as effective as the strongest available DEET based insect repellent.
